The life of a school changes as regularly as the life of a family, an individual, a neighborhood/town, or a company of any kind. Here at Sizer School we not only keep track of who we are, but how we change and where we are going. To do this we create many informative documents to help us "follow along". Some of the key documents we maintain include:
The Sizer School Policy Book: This is a document that tracks all of the policies created and approved by our Board of Trustees. Please see the link below to review this document.
The 2013-15 Collaborative Bargaining Agreement: This is a document that is created by a collaboration of Leadership, Administrative staff and Teachers to define our employment agreement and guidelines for a given year. This document must be voted on by the entire staff and approved by the Board of Trustees. Please see the link below to review this document.
The Sizer School Annual Report: By August 1 of each year, charter schools must submit an annual report to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the public. This report provides a comprehensive picture of the recently completed academic year as it relates to the school’s accountability plan objectives and evidence regarding the three areas guiding charter school accountability:
The annual report will be used by the Department to review the school’s performance and progress for the past academic year, and will serve as one of the primary pieces of evidence that the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education will review when it considers a school’s application for charter renewal. To review this document, please go to the "Who We Are" Tab and to the Annual Report Link.
The Student & Family Handbook: The purpose of the Student and Family Handbook is to communicate the policies, procedures, and practices for the school year to all of our students and families. The faculty and administration at our school will strive to provide the best educational opportunities that contribute to all students’ social-emotional growth and academic achievement. Our focus is to create a school climate where students and school staff can experience success in an atmosphere of mutual caring, respect, and responsibility. Think*Care*Act. The Bullying Resource Guide: The purpose of the Bullying Resource Guide is to communicate our policies, procedures and practices as they relate to bullying. Millions of youth are victims of moderate or serious bullying each year. It is often a violation of civil rights and is responsible for numerous lawsuits and criminal cases. Bullying occurs in every school and often students stay home from school because of bullying as it creates a fearful environment that impacts learning. NCCES does not tolerate bullying.
