2018 Strategic Plan

On May 20, 2009 NCCES launched its 2018 Strategic Plan, the second one in the school's history. The goal of the Strategic Plan was to transition NCCES from a start-up school to a long standing institution. The Strategic Planning committee reviewed the school's mission statement and determined that it should remain unchanged as it continued to guide the work we were doing.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT:

The North Central Charter Essential School is a public school where students are known personally, challenged intellectually, and expected to participate actively. Guided by its commitment to diversity and inclusiveness, the school seeks to send graduates into the world who think for themselves, care about others, and act creatively and responsibly.

OUR 2018 VISION STATEMENT:

We are an innovative public school that meets each and every student where they are as individuals and learners. We do what it takes to inspire passionate, creative leaders and life-long learners who achieve personal greatness, are prepared for the future and engage with and give back to the world.

STRATEGIES:

1. Build a High Performing Organization

• Ensure long term financial sustainability.
• Develop a school of leaders.
• Provide comprehensive professional development and enrichment.
• Use data to Inform decisions at all levels of the school.

2. Ensure Excellent, Personalized Education for All Students

• Personalized learning informed by each student’s response to excellent instruction.
• Deliver a guaranteed and viable core curriculum aligned to rigorous, school-wide essential standards.
• Provide a comprehensive Student Advisory Program ensuring the well being and high achievement of every student.
• Provide a safe, nurturing, and joyful environment for learning.

3. Create Community Partnerships for Youth Development

• Define our school as a unique provider of an excellent, personalized education.
• Develop and support institutional partnerships to impact personalized education program.
• Develop vibrant enrichment program.
• Develop corps of volunteers.
