Current Project
Students will be working on their projects for the remaining of the year, which are to be presented at Science Fair.
Visual Arts (Adams) ([email protected])
7th Grade is working on two projects alternately.
One project is the making
and glazing of small, round nearly closed pots,
appropriate as bud vases, perfume bottles, or spice containers. We have made
our pots using a technique of slab, slumping, paddling over a newspaper
form. Openings are about dime size and there are feet on all the pots for
stability. We have bisque fired the work and are nearly ready to glaze.
The second project we are
working on is the exploration of the life and works of
Wayne Thiebaud. Thiebaud celebrated the abundance of the American culture
with luscious paintings of pies, cakes, tarts, and ice cream. We are working
large, 18X24 and painting with tempera paints. Our work will reflect the
style of Wayne Thiebaud. Exhibition of these arts will be in the Commons
area for public viewing.
Thanks, Louise Adams, Division 1, Visual Arts.
