North Central Charter Essential School entered its tenth year on August 30th, 2011. The school is stronger and more effective than ever, chartered to serve 400 students in the 7th through 12th grade students from towns and cities across North Central Massachusetts. Each student at NCCES receives a personalized education that builds on strengths and insists that every gap and challenge to academic success is met head on with a clear plan for improvement and growth. The Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education voted in January 2012 to renew the school's charter with the condition that the school continue to meet academic growth targets. These conditions were released shortly after as the school was already working to improve the issues related to the conditions.
